Our Planet Needs You!
Our Earth is the one place in the Universe which supports life and the home for all of us. A rich, complex, interdependent system of life has evolved on our planet over billions of years. The future of this life and of humans is intimately connected. It depends on the actions of all of us.
Humans were once intimately connected with our natural world but the industrial revolution and technological change have disrupted our connection with nature.
Overconsumption of the Earth’s resources and overpopulation now threatens the very climate and natural world that makes life on Earth possible.
Yet there is hope. Rather than responding to these challenges by contracting into a diminishing vision, a growing group globally are dreaming big by recognising that nature needs large connected landscapes for wildlife, wild places and natural processes to survive and thrive. And humans need nature for our own physical, spiritual and emotional well-being.
New technologies and a growing movement for change is making it possible for humans to switch to an energy supply and transport system in keeping with a safe climate.
Across the entire planet, people are thinking, organising and acting to switch how we organise our society and economy so that a thriving humanity is in keeping with a liveable planet and thriving natural world. And though this is our biggest ever challenge, humanity has dealt with immense global challenges in the past, and we can do so again.
